Seasonal Brews
New on Tap! Pony Express Summer Ale, Wrangler Red, and Eagle Pride Pilsener.
Bock Lager: A traditional German lager, our Bock is a full bodied, strong beer. German style malts give this beer a smooth, rich complexity not found in many beers. Historically, this special beer was brewed by Trappist monks to drink while fasting during Lent. On tap in late January. Approximately 7.0% Alc./vol. Limited to 3 pints. (Out of Season.)
Amazon Blond Ale: The big sister of our Big, But Blond ale, this Ale is big in every way. A strong Malty beer with moderate amount of hops and kick. The taste is almost sweet.(in an Amazonian sort of way). On tap in February/March. Approximately 8.8% Alc./vol. Limited to 3 pints. (Out of Season)
Wrangler Red Ale: The perfect introduction to craft-brewed beer! Full of flavors, with a spicy, aromatic hop nose and a smooth, caramel-malt sweetness, this beer is surprisingly light-bodied and easy to drink despite it‘s dark amber color. A palatable introduction to what craft brewing is all about…Flavor! On tap in April. Approximately 4.8% Alc./vol. (In Season )
Pony Express Summer Ale. This special seasonal ale was brewed with hot summer days in mind. Light, crisp and mild, this easy drinking beer was brewed with a small addition of rye malt to lend a subtly sweet malt flavor and dry finish. Crystal hops balance this beer with a mild bitterness and a hint of hop flavor. Only one batch will be brewed so get it while it's hot......the weather that is. 4.8%Alc./Vol. (In Season)
Freedom double IPA: This is a very special Ale that is brewed to raise money for a non-profit charity. Brewed with 65 lbs. of hops (the Big, But Blond is made with 3 lbs. and the Sloughhouse with 22 lbs.) this beer is very hoppy and strong. Not for the faint of heart. 25 cents per pint goes to the charity. Late June. 9.7% Alc/Vol. Limited to 3 pints. (Out of Season, due to price increases, will not be produced this year)
Märzen Lager: An American version of a classic German style, this amber lager has a subtle hop flavor and aroma not found in an authentic German Märzen. The combination of German-style malts, a Bavarian yeast strain, and traditional lagering, or aging (for over 2 months!), creates one of our smoothest and tastiest beers. On tap late August. 5.8% Alc./vol. (Out of Season)
Woody’s Hophead Red Ale: The brewer’s favorite seasonal beer, this red ale lives up to its name. Simply said, it’s a big, hoppy red ale. Copious amounts of Centennial hops are added to this beer, both in the kettle and the fermentor. Crystal and Pale malt round out this substantial beer and lend a rich red color and body to balance the hops. On tap in August. Approximately 6.8%Alc./vol. (Out of Season)
Bad Dog Brown Ale: An American brown ale, this robust dark beer is surprisingly easy to drink. Roasted malts give this beer its dark, ruby color and strong character. Rich and complex, the smooth, clean finish make this special ale a big favorite among our regulars. On tap in October. Approximately 5.8% Alc./vol. (Out of Season)
Winter Warmer Porter: Brewed to keep you warm on a chilly winter’s night, this dark ale is slightly stronger than your average porter. Intense and multifaceted, the essence of this beer changes with every sip. Great with food or by itself, this beer is meant to be savored, not merely drunk. On tap in late November. Approximately 8.0% Alc./vol. Limited to 3 pints. (Out of Season)
Eagle Pride German-Style Pilsener: Brewed in the traditional German style, this award winning Pilsener is moderately bitter with a clean crisp finish. Imported Saaz (pronounced Satz) hops were used to lend a distinctly spicy hop flavor and aroma. Unlike the American mass-produced version of Pilsener, this special Lager uses 100% barley malt and has substantial body to balance the ho flavor and bitterness. So called Pilsener produced by the big breweries is made using corn and rice (in addition to barley), is very light bodied and has little to no hop bitterness or character. 5.0% Alc./Vol. (In Season)
